Newsletter Nov. 2008

FARM PARK DEVELOPMENT WORKS AND NEW ARRIVALS -It seems a long time ago now but, at the beginning of 2007, we started on an eighteen month Development Programme at the Visitor Centre.  This significant phase of works was eventually completed late Summer 2008.  We hope you approve of our efforts.

OPENING TIMES -

The Farm Park is open EVERY day of the year except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day when we do close.  We open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.  We are also open on 1st January, 2009.

POWER CUT -

A short electricity interruption is expected on the morning of Tuesday, 2nd December.

CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS DECEMBER 2008 -

This year again promises to be great fun.  Our Christmas ‘Special Treats’ will feature:

Santa’s Grotto - Santa himself will be with us each weekend 6/7th, 13/14th, and 20/21st December.  He will be located in his little wooden house in the Medieval Castle where the children can see him and choose a little gift.  Weekday Groups can book to see him in advance

Rudolph and Friends - the deer have produced a number of fawns this year.  Rudolph and his team are going to be accessible for the children to say hello to and hand-feed if they so wish

Animals Nativity and Christmas Pets Encounter - featuring donkeys, sheep and lots of other small animals

Snowy Owl Pen - meet the new Snowy Owl ‘Harry Potter’

Christmas Crafts

Cat’s Whisker Christmas Kitchen - hot soup, mince pies and home-made cakes

Weekend Magic Shows with Mr. Fizz 6/7th, 13/14th and 20/21st December

Christmas Trees, Holly, Hampers etc. - ask us for more detail

FARM PARK CHRISTMAS TREAT -

We know Christmas can be expensive so we are offering a half price weekend on 27th and 28th December so that you can give the kids an extra treat to have fun and burn off some of the Christmas pudding!

MEMBERSHIP SCHEME 2009

RECESSION-BUSTING 20% DISCOUNT!  (50% WEEKDAY CLUB DAYS) -

Our Membership Scheme continues to prove very popular and I am therefore writing to let you know about our improved Membership package for 2009.

Our 2009 Membership will run from 1st January to 31st December, 2009.  The subscription will cost £25 per card and will have the following benefits:

1. A recession-busting 20% discount on entry costs for Members with their family and friends (up to a maximum of 6 people).  No limit on amount of usage.

2. Automatic membership of the Weekday Club which runs on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term time.  Entry costs are reduced by 50% for those Members, their children and their guests on those days.

3. Receiving our periodic newsletters.

4. Birthday Parties booking for a Member and that Member’s Party child is free.

For any person joining up for 2009 now, they will be able to take advantage of the discounts immediately.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES - (Now from £6 per party child!!)

In addition to our very popular birthday party arrangements, we can now offer a recession-busting Medieval birthday party package.  These parties take place in the Medieval Castle area in the Play Barn extension and are charged at £6 per party child (adults with a group come in free) on the basis that the parents provide their own food.  We still supply the invitations, juice and party bags at the end.  Parties use the Castle for a two hour period but we do not watch the clock so, if you want to come early or stay later, that is fine.

ADULT LIGHT BUFFET - Can be arranged at approximately £2 per head to coincide with children’s party food or a gathering of friends.  Ask for more details.

PICNICS -

We have no objection to your bringing your own picnics but we do ask that you use either our indoor picnic area in the Play Barn extension or the outdoor tables, as opposed to the restaurant area.

NEWSLETTER BY E-MAIL -

If you would like to receive the Newsletter by e-mail on a more regular basis, please e-mail to us your contact details.  If you have a friend who you think would also like to receive our Newsletters then please let us also have their contact details.  E-mail to:  subscribe@dickwhittington.org
